Hello,

I have a 65g flat back hex tank with 3 angel fish, 8 hatchet fish, 5 bleeding heart tetras, and 4 lemon tetras. There is also 1 neon (from a school of about 12 that though they lived peacefully with the angels for about a year, they eventually ended up being eaten) 1 white cloud mountain minnow (from a friend who was going to flush him) and 1 pepper cory (there used to be 5, but I went to south africa for 8 weeks and when I came back apparently 4 of them died in my absence, though no other fish did. My husband was taking care of them)

Anyway, I was thinking of getting 3 pictus catfish since I've always wanted them. I have read yes and no reports for them with angels. Are my fish likely to be ok?

Having kept pictus cats for a while, I would say not a great idea for a few reasons. First, pictus cats are pretty hyperactive fish, especially for catfish. I could see their sudden, violent movement being pretty stressful for an angel. Also, having kept them in a 4' tank and a 6' tank, I would never go back to the smaller length. They really love the extra two feet to move, and with a group of full grown pictus, you really need it IMO. There's a lot less crashing into decor and tank ends in the larger tank when they go flying back and forth. I'd just up teh cory school again, they are a much better option for the tank IMO.
