changing tanks?

I started to cycle a 20g about a month ago. The stats are

ammonia 0.4
nitrites 1.0
nitrates 20
temp 80
ph 8.0

How bad would I mess things up if I moved everything including water to a 30g and top off with fresh SW? I'm guessing the ammon,nitrites would be 0 by this weekend? How badly would I mess things up?

I assume with those parameters there isn't any livestock, correct? You may get a nominal spike, but the added water volume should primarily dilute it. Otherwise, I don't see any reason why not--better now than later, anyway.
