Anyone use these?

I have both of the above products. The Bio-Safe is for Chlorine, Chloramine and Ammonia Detox. It states on the container to use in new tanks or with water changes of 50% or more.....This has me a little confused (I don't do 50% water changes....25% at the most). This product has Sodium hydroxymethane and Sulfinic Acid (means nothing to me, but might to some of you chemistry smarties.) ;)

The Bio-Coat is for slime coat, adds electrolytes and is also for Chlorine and Chloramine (but says nothing about Ammonia). However, it does not remove as much Chlorine and Chloramine (ppm/per 10 gallons of water) as the Bio-Safe. It says nothing about 50% water changes. This product has polyvinylpyrrolidone, EDTA, TRIS and Bio-Guard which is a blend of their secret ingredients I guess.

Question is: When doing water changes, should I use both of these products or just the Bio-Coat? They do not have the same ingredients (by name), but some of the ingredients in comparison do the same thing, and I'm afraid that could lead to some kind of overdosing.

Sorry if this sounds long and confusing. I tried to make it as brief and informative as I could. :o

OK, to answer my own question..............

I called Marineland. They said that I do not have to use both for small water changes. Just the Bio-Coat will suffice.

Bio-Safe is just for large water changes or new tank set up.

Nevermind..............;)

""Slime coat" enhancers need not be refined from organic sources. One of the stock polymer "slime coat replacements" in conditioners is polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP-30) which is also used as a stabilizer that adds "mouth feel" to beer."
