Hello all,
I am new to the "in depth" side of aquariums. That being said, I have had at least one most of my life but adhered to the ole' minimalist school of
1) Add carbon to the filter
2) Turn the air pump on
3) Add fish
WHOA.... did I miss a lot!!!... and my poor fish, I thought I was treating them well?!
I have been lucky enough to inherit a 29 Gallon planted freshwater tank. This came with a Magnum 350 and the duel bio-wheels inline with the output tube. I purchased a Nutrafin CO2 system (canister with the bubble ladder) but soon realized that the mixture just plain didn't work. I have successfully made the sugar/yeast concoction and would like to "inject" the CO2 directly into the intake tube and diffuse it via the impeller.
My question: Will I essentially be wasting the CO2 due to the bio-wheels being in line with the output tube?
I plead ignorance if I have used the wrong jargon or possible misinformation, but I greatly appreciate any and all help.
Thanks.
