Hello everyone!http://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/images/smilies/wave.gif I was at my friends house yesterday and he caught a baby alligator lizard. He wanted to give it to his chickens but instead gave it to me. http://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/images/smilies/bigg.gif So, the Alligator lizard is about 3 inches from head to tip of its tail. The tail is very long! The tank that I set up for the Alligator Lizard is a 30 gallon long. I'll post a few pictures of the tank soon.

*NOTE* The Alligator Lizard is NOT a real Alligator, its a type of lizard.

alligator lizards are very cool. I used to keep 'em when I lived in CA. Can't wait to see pics.

If you get it to eat, you'll need a much longer tank pretty soon.

I've seen them at well over a foot in length. They tend to be rather anti-social at that length and can easily draw blood with a bite. I'd rate 'em pretty low on the "pet friendly" scale.

Darn, I was hoping to find another idiot who bought a baby "Alligator". Good luck with the lizard!

It started to eat on the very same day I got it. :D I think they get up to 2 ft in length from the head to the tip of its tail. Alligator lizards have SUPER long tails! It is very very cool to watch the little fella eat. Very cool and interesting. He loves his new home. :D

The largest one I had was about 13" with the tail. Unfortunately, they tend to "lose" their tails easily, so be careful handling it(the tail will grow back, after some time).
As far as the "pet friendly" scale, they are mean, but that's why I like them:grinyes:

Here is a FTS of the tank. I got my cuz to take a FTS and send the picture to me. I have a picture of the lizard, but hes going to send it to me later. I'm not finished with the tank yet. Going to add a few plants and make a background.

The dimensions of the tank are: 36.5 inches(3 ft) long, 10.5 inches wide, and 17 inches high.

The lizard was sleeping when I took this shot, when I was finished and taking the camera out of the tank it woke up and was looking at me like "what the hell are you doing?" LOL
