Aquarium measurements

ok can someone tell me the measements of a 20 gallon Long and a regular 30 gallon aquarium? Are they close in measurements like someone has told me?
Right now i have a 20 gallon long set up and I am upgrading to a regular 30 gallon. Do i need to buy a new top or are the measurements the same?

A 20 long has the same footprint as a 29 gallon - 30" x 12.5". Lupin, glasscages apparently does't have a 30G tank -- but I believe 30G are longer than 30", I'm sure someone else will know for sure.

Well, I just looked it up out of my own curiosity and it looks like a standard 30G is 36" x 12", so no, your 20 long hood would not fit.

lucy42083 is right. A 30gal tank is 6 inches longer than a 20gal long tank.
