Yea, they should be feed veggies every once in a while. Try zucchini and spinich, I have had luck with them, especially zucchini, my plecos love it.

cucumber, collard greens, and romaine lettuc may also be eaten, depending on the pleco.

sliced cucumber or other vegetables as mentioned above soaked in water. attach to a clip or blanch to encourage sinking, leave in for at least a few days.
good luck

When I buy a zucchini, I cut it and put it in a zip loc bag in the freezer because I don't use that much at a time. So, I boil mine for about 45-60 seconds, then let cold water run in the pot for awhile. My plecos like it better when it is boiled because it's softer. I put in a few pieces sometimes right when I get a fresh zucchini, but they don't like it as much as when I boil it. I bought 2 little rocks which I rubberband the zucchini to.

gibbiceps is a veggie eater but will eat meat if nothing else is available. I would go with cucumbers mine use to like that. HTH

You should feed him some green every one week or so. Some good food are hikari algae wafer, cucumber.
