Eheim 2026/2028 parts compatability

I have an existing Eheim 2026 that I would like to replace with a 2028.
Does anyone know positively- if I quick-disconnect the filter of the 2026 (as if I were cleaning the canister, with the shut off apparatus left hanging under the tank), will the canister/top of the new 2028 fit right back on- without exchanging any of the fittings?

Am I making sense here?
I do not want to take out or disturb my intake/ prefilter/ spraybar stuff, and am hoping that the connections on the filter end of the system are interchangeable?
The parts number/s are the same for the quick disconnect fitting on each of the two filters, so I should be able to just take one out and put the other in, assuming seeded media, etc.
Anyone know for sure?

Sorry, I can't answer your question. I have a 2026 and I'm pretty sure the only difference is the height of the cannister to allow for the extra tray. All of the flow figures/watt figures etc. are the same. I concure that the part numbers are the same.
If you don't actually get a definitive answer, I'd go ahead. The only risk is actually putting in the new intake tube and spraybar.
