Hi guys thanks for the previous help on the other posts!

Have another one for ya!

Under my substrate I have fertilizer pellets for the plants in the tank, If i vacuum will the pellets which are obviously dissolving, be sucked up into the vacuum or is there another way around this problem like have some fish clean for me (haha save the hassle)...

Thanks

Normally planted tanks do not have the substrate vacuumed other than light passes above the surface to suck up surface debris. Disturbing the substrate and the roots is not desirable in planted tanks. If there are unplanted areas, those may be vacuumed conventionally.

Exposing plant tabs, especially Jobes spikes, is not good - it can lead to cloudy water.

I agree with RTR. In addition, I wouldn't rely on fish to clean for you. I tried that when I first got my 29-gal and when I vacuumed to see if it was working, there was alot of junk that the fish had missed.
