Thinking about building a canopy with MH and PC. Would this work?

I have a 30 gallon high aquarium I am setting up and I currently have 55x2 PCs over it. it is a deep aquarium so I would like to add some more light. I might have found a 70w MH DIY set for pretty cheap.

Would I be able to take the PCs apart and put them into a canopy that I will build along with the MH? Would it be worth it, as in would it help out my corals? looking to keep mainly softies and maybe some LPS.

I would do it. It wouldn't add tons more PAR, but you could put a bunch of actinics in there for looks. :)
