Whats a schooling fish, or at least a good community fish that will go good with convicts. Parameters are all even, ph 7.2 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 40 (is that bad?) Soft Water 75 GH 20 KH I need something because the tank isnt as active as when the convicts moved in.....

Convicts shouldn't be kept with any "standard" schooling fish. They are best kept with other aggressive cichlids, and only if the tank is big enough to limit aggression.
 
Depends on the type of convicts you have as there are more than one kind. Any fast swimming fish such as a giant danio or similar. Also the fish need to be larger than the convicts. I have zebra cons with an Oscar, adult Silver Dollar, sailfin plec and also have a pink Con with an Oscar and a common plec.

Zebra danios would be lunch.
 
ive seen cons and guppies kept in the same tank peacefully, (minus the culling of fry) for a long time.
 
Yes, they are raising their fry as we speak, and the exesive nitrates I contribute to the fact that I just fed them, with powdered flake food and it got a little messy. So danios? <aybe long finned? MAYBE GUPPIES?
