OK for you guys to understand what I am going to say, you have to be an x-files fan or at least understand the show very well.

So if you fit the description read on. If you don't then you probably won't understand my discovery.

I was listening to my ipod when Over my Head by the Fray came on and I noticed that that song is basically made to be about the X-files.

Here are the lyrics. I hope that you guys get what I am saying. LOL! I'm prob like the the only fan here! LOL. but seriously,

the song was made for the show (not really but it does sounds like its about mulder)

I never knew
I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a cue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Let's rearrange
I wish you were a stranger I could disengage
Just say that we agree and then never change
Soften a bit until we all just get along
But that's disregard
Find another friend and you discard
As you lose the argument in a cable car
Hanging above as the canyon comes between

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your ...

And suddenly I become a part of your past
I'm becoming the part that don't last
I'm losing you and its effortless
Without a sound we lose sight of the ground
In the throw around
Never thought that you wanted to bring it down
I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves

And everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Everyone knows
She's on your mind
Everyone knows I'm in over my head
I'm in over my head
I'm over my...

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

I can see some of the tie ins. Your not the only one, I'm looking forward to the new movie and untill then Lost dvd's will have to do. The truth IS out there!

I was an X-Files fan back in the day...back before Cancer man became 'the cigarette smoking man' (to be more politically correct).

If your jonesing for a really cool and freaky show, check out 'Twin Peaks' on DVD. I highly recommend it... 'The owls are not what they seem'.

The Twin Peaks prequel is really, really cool. Used to love watching TP, but there were so many unanswered questions by the end. The Prequel (can't recall the name), ties it all together. Very rad.

As for those X-files lyrics, there could be a couple interpretations. Both involve an excess intake of the Wild Weed (not that there's anything wrong with that), just not sure whether it was the song's author or Agent Scully doing the inhaling... :)

X-Files was cool for the first couple seasons, then all that sexual tension and PC-ness (as mentioned by Madcraw) started coming into it, and it just got right off course...

If anyone decides to watch Twin Peaks (you won't be disappointed), make sure to watch the prequel 'Fire Walk With Me' AFTER you've watched the series... also if you get the newer Gold edition on DVD, don't watch the European pilot (make sure to only watch the American pilot) until after watching the series. Watching either the prequel or the European pilot first will spoil the 1st season of the series for you...
