Okay I have been reading a lot of different ways to get rid of Black Beard Algae, but the one that seems to come up a lot is using Excel to help get rid of the problem...I am planning on taking out the rocks and bleaching them now what my question is how do I dose the rest of the tank do I just follow the instructions or what?

2 options take them out and dip them or use something to shoot some excel on it. the bleach dip might work for the plants too. excel kills some plants and if od can kill fish.

So how much should I use, just what they recommend on the bottle?

I'm currently fighting BBA with Excel. I don't know if it's working, I'll keep you posted. I'm using a syringe and just spraying some excel onto each of the spots. Right now I'm using about 1.5x the dosage that the bottle suggests.

I too am just getting the startings of it. I wondered if spot treating with H202 would help?
