I have a Gold Veil Angel that has been acting very strange over the last couple of months. I catch him "sitting" on the filter intake, on plants, the ground, etc. Sometimes lying flat on the gravel below. I treated him with Melafix with absolutely no change at all. He IS however eating just fine. The second I open the lid, he swims great eats like a piggy and seems fine. Once he is done eating and swimming around for a while, he finds a place to "sit" again.
Any advice?

angels will typically seek tall vertical structures. do you have tall plants , driftwood in the tank?
it may simply be seeking cover.

Hi!
I think something in the water may be affecting his comfort a little bit. Have you checked the water parameters? Temperature, nitrates, nitrites, ammonia and pH? Are you using a good chlorine and chloramines remover or neutralizer?

That is not a good sign, the only plus is that still eating.
From what I see in my tanks it is like Star_rider said usually caused by another fish harassing this angel, but it could be your water parameters.
See if a large water change will make a difference, anything wrong with other fish in the tank?
