i know that you're supposed to use GE silicone I for gluing styrofoam together, but can it also be used for sealing the entire project? for example:
step 1 - glue the styrofoam pieces using GE silicone I
step 2 - add layers of cement, allowing for proper curing with each layer
step 3 - seal it with the same silicone used in step 1

Yes just make sure each layer cures completely.

all right, sweet! cuz i always wondered why do people buy a separate epoxy resin for sealing if they already have the aquarium safe silicone
