I love pleco's and i was wondering what the perfect set up would be for them? I was looking into a 55gal tank and was wondering what would be the most ideal set up posiable for them. One that would mimic the real world. Pictures would be awesome!

what kind of plecos were you planning on keeping?

it really depends on the pleco species you intend to keep. some come from fast flowing rivers, other fron slower moving bodies water. some life in on and off drift wood snags others live between and under rocks. You should check out planet catfish once you've considered which types you want to get/keep/breed.

this article is a good read:

the cat-elog is alway a good place to check info out to.

Yes, it really depends on the type. One thing that seems consistant for all types is that they like fast flowing water. You can also see how there body is built for this. Although, I keep mine in slow moving water and they do fine there as well.:)

i have heard that acanthicus adonis is commonly found in slower pools and streams near human settlements and doesn't need/like fast moving water.

Well i was thinking of keeping a couple gold nugget pleco's (L18), hopefully some zebra plecos, Cachama mama (saw it at www.riverwonders.com (http://www.riverwonders.com) and hopefully a lepord frog pleco. I am looking for the coolest plecos and ones that will give color and a cool notch up on other tanks.

i was rummageing though my files and i remembered i found this site. The fast water movement of a river is no problem for me to duplicate River Aquarium (http://clayt101.tripod.com/royalpleco/id8.html):D :D :D

i may be mistaken but i believe Cachama mama is a. adonis, a nice looking fish but gets pretty large.
