View Full Version : Do You Talk In Your Sleep?

Have you ever slept with someone, even someone that's not your lover, and in the morning they give you this weird look and end up telling you that you talk while ur sleeping?
I had a few incidents.
------------------
Incident 1 is where I call complete awkwardness with parents:
I slept with my parents even till I was 11 years old. I usually have problems sleeping when I sleep by myself. I had a very actively disturbing imagination when I was a kid and I end up not being able to sleep much by myself.
So during that age, I had issues with having naughty dreams. One night I had a really crazy dream and I wasn't very sure but I sort of felt myself yelling it aloud even though I was just dreaming. So in the morning, I woke up and looked at my parents. They were both laying there with big wide eyes and for the whole week, no one really spoke to anyone. From there forward, I slept in my own bed, they rather let me have a sleepless night then them, selfish!!! It's not my fault, I was a growing boy with natural growing boy dreams!!
--------------
Incident 2 is what I call, scaring your gf to death.
Ever had the problem of going to sleep and waking up with your gf crying next to you and you didn't even do anything?
Well, I do. My gf sometimes cry when I wake up and she has the terrified look on her. I asked her one day and she says I speak at night. I'm like, oh what did I say?
She says that sometimes at night, I get demonic and start talking in different languages, languages that I normally don't speak. The last time I spoke, she said it sounded Latin. I'm doubting her big time but I do know I speak at night.
She said awhile back, I woke her up with my talk and she thought I was awake so she called out my name. She said my response was "shut up or I'll kill you and eat your soul". She says I usually mumble gibberish stuff at night, but I still doubt her because there's no proof but then again, I don't think I wanna know the truth lol. She does know what she's talking about though, maybe the 21 units of college classes is taking a toll on her or maybe I am demonic.
She seems to have found a solution to this, hitting me with a pillow seems to be the new thing for her each night. Ehhh compromises.

My wife teaches 4th grade and talks in her sleep. I can tell when things are bad at school because I'll wake up to her yelling at the class to SIT DOWN! I think she says in her sleep what she cant actually say to them in the class, but wants to.

LOL, that's exactly what my gf tells me to do, find an exorcist. She says it with a serious face too lol.
I'm like "Oh okay, where's the yellow pages then dear? Or maybe I should call their HotLine 1-888-FreeMe-2"
:headshake2:
I admit it though, I'm not exactly 180 from how I am during my sleep

If you doubt her why don't you just get a tape-recording or use your mic on your computer to tape yourself and see:)

all the items you mention - talking in your sleep, walking in your sleep - are sleep disturbances.
If you wake up and dont feel like you slept, you should maybe see a sleep specialist.
Just a thought.

These can all be signs of apnea. Most snore as a result, do you snore?

It's because I'm afraid to find out, it's just some of the things she describes. A few days ago I was acting demonic and she woke me up screaming for me to stop threatening her lmao. But for that whole night, I had this dreadful feeling like there was something that was around our bed.
My only issue is, I like getting scared, its the few times in life where I feel like I'm alive.

Being an adrenaline junkie isn't the problem. Dealing with whatever issues that are causing this behavior is.

Well, I carry on conversations in my sleep, and as a child I would get up and find the bathroom in my sleep (which usually wasnt the bathroom )
Natty, you make me think of those shows about possesion. You better move...
 just kidding

I sleep walk to my kitchen almost once a week. I usually find a bunch of bread crumbs and crust on my counter or cheez-its all over my bed. It was a mistake to get some milk, drink half of it, then waking up to finding out that my dog spilt it all over my floor.
I also have that thing when If you aren't awake for a long time and go back to sleep, you don't remember what happened. Like for example, my mom woke me up to go to school at about 7:00 AM, I woke up and said, sure I'll get in the shower. This is when she gets ready to drop off my little sister at her school, so she isn't around until 7:40. She found me in bed still asleep about 10 minutes before school.
I also can also turn off my alarm and go back to sleep without even fully waking up.

Yeah, the alarm is shut off in my sleep. Apparently one time, while my friends were over, I woke up at 4 am, feed my fish, then went back to bed while there were people sleeping on the ground.

I punched someone in the face once, I broke my ring on their teeth... I did almost feel bad afterwards though... I could see them, but I swear I was sleeping, they were trying to steal my cheese so I punched him in the face..
I also freak out and try to stop myself from falling for no reason in the middle of the night, I even get that feeling like my stomach is flipping over.
I do talk in my sleep quite a lot, not much is comprehensible, but my friend(who stayed over) said I was yelling that they ate butt monkeys when they asked if they could steal a pillow.

I sleep walk and sleep talk.. Luckily everyone Im around knows this , or is made aware of it before bedtime so they pretty much ignore me. My hubby keeps an eye on me if I happen to wake him up sleep walking, but other than that he pretty much ignores me and laughs the next day at me..

when we are asleep we are more receptive to demonic possesion, sounds funny but there are real cases i would seek the help of someone that can tell if you are receptive to the other world so to speak,..
for the sake of your gf or wife and any future kids, as if this something is around it will stay with you, and might end up hurt some one, i know it sound weird but better safe then sorry...........
hopefully its you alter ego and not a demonic spirit, but just to be safe i'd try to find out,..
if you have had the feeling then it might be true,.. try to keep a bit closer to god what ever way you believe.. bad spirits are real and if they find an easy target, they tend to stay with that person,

My hubby sleep talks all the time, says the weirdest craziest things and i just die laughing.
#1: we have bed sheets with little pink monkey once and he woke up one night stood up in the bed looked half awake giggled and said "hehe, the monkeys tried to get on my nose... me: what?...him: the monkeys keep trying to get on my nose.
#2: our dog sleeps with us and one night my hubby woke scared and moving away from the dog in complete fear screaming " AHH theres a cat on our bed!!"
incident 3 involved him saying about the penguins....penguins.

Before going and changing your last name to Blaire and asking the church for an exorcism I would consult someone in the mental health field as well as your family doctor. Sleep apnea can be deadly and all the signs that you are exhibiting are signs of apnea.

well lets see... i have had a dream where like im about to be killed and i wake up to like loud thunder... lol
the worst lifelike dream was me at camp and my dad was telling me not to be eaten by a mouse? anyway, there was this big crocodile thing under my bed and it was trying to eat the mouse and it thought i was the mouse, so it tried to eat me... and i woke up at the other end of the bed screaming...
that wasnt funny... lol
and i have my phone alarm set for 4am so i know on school days that i have to get my brain working enough to get my real alarm clock which goes off at 5:45, and i have woken up with the phone in my hand turned off...
OH and i dont know if anyone has seen the music vid where the people are all like computerized, and like in negative color..? its really wierd but i woke up to that playing and i thought like the world was coming to an end
but no... i dont talk in my sleep
I sleep talk, sleep walk, and once ate a half can of cake frosting *with my hands* while asleep. I found the wreckage on my desk in the morning. I must also have washed my face and brushed my teeth in my sleep as well. My husband said that one night I sat up in bed and said "I think it's about time I ate that chocolate bunny." I found the wrapper in the trash the next morning along with an empty box of ... pink marshmallow peeps.
Once, back when I was on a trip with my HS Band, one of the chaperones tried to wake me up to ask me a question. I remember coming to mid sentence and couldn't remember where I was or how I got there. My roommates were just staring at me like I had 2 heads. It was hilarious.

Me too...and it's usually an extremely loud bang that makes me sit up in bed. Yet, my girl is still fast asleep so it must have been all in my head.
I've also had 'night terrors' when it feels like something is sitting on your chest and you're totally aware yet can't move or wake up but you keep trying anyway. I too, have heard what sounded like Latin viciously whispered into my ear while this was happening. Pure evil.
When I finally do manage to wake up and move, I'm extremely angry and jump up swinging and cussing out loud at my would be attacker...lol. Of course, it's all in my head. Funny how the mind works some time.

Well, ive had some bad old dreams...couple months old. Every once in a while, i get a bad one. I usually don't. One I have is my mom is driving and taking me somewhere, we just entered the freeway and into he highway, then bam! off the ground what felt like a earthquake, and the whole floor suddenly turned 45 degrees and cars were flying over us and everything, one looked like it almost hit us and flew right past us, then I woke up.
I have the tendency to sleep with twisting & turning my body. I like to randomly turn off my alarm while asleep (which is annoying) I actually don't do it anymore.

I remember I had to wake up early a couple times before, so I set my alarm earlier than usual (5:30am) and every time I would wake up to my other alarm at 7:00am and find the early alarm (5:30am) turned off...wierd.
