My 29gal measures 30"x12"x18". Planning on buying a new lighting system; but some here have said that I need a 30" fixture. Won't I need a 24" fixture? I thought the 24" referred to the bulb length not the length of the fixture. The previous lighting system I bought, I as almost certain was 24" and it fit fine.
You just need to make sure the 24" system has legs on it that will span over your tank.
If you are buying a standard light hood, you need to make sure it's designed to fit a 20L/29H (same hood).
If you are buying something like a Sunpod or NovaExtreme, you'll want to call the mfr or store to find out of the legs will adjust out to fit the longer tank.
