So I'm thinking about adding a lemon peel angel to my tank and wanted to hear other people's personal experiences with lemon peels and corals. Fishwise it's going in with an orchid dottyback, an oscillaris clown and a shrimp-goby pair. The corals are my bigger concern and they are: mushrooms, zoos, toadstool leather, clove polyps, star polyps, a hammer coral, a sun coral and a trumpet coral. I know there's a risk that it'll nip at corals and I'm curious to see what other folks' experiences have been. Are there other pygmy angels that have a better reputation concerning corals? Thanks!

The lemonpeel angel we had was a coral nipper. It routinely tasted several of our soft corals. I'd be most concerned about your zoanthids. I would be surprised if it bothered your toadstool leather. We did, however, have a rabbitfish that loved to eat tree leathers. Different fish all together, but I never understood why that rabbitfish found tree leathers so tasty.

Hit or miss. Lemons have been known to nip corals, but it depends on the fish. I have a flame and he is great, even with a clam.

I asked this same question to my LFS, as I was getting a lemon for free, and he said that they were more prone than most small angels for picking on corals...so I didnt get it.. I dont know firsthand, but thought I'd pass on the info..
