I like marinedepot.com, though they have minimal freshwater supplies.

Where online do you shop? I'm interested in finding a site I can buy substrate, plants, and various plumping parts but I can't find a store like that..

i typically buy most of the basics from drsfostersmith.com because of the prices and selection. i buy substrate (sand) locally, costs too much to ship. for plants i suggest aquabid.com or the aquaticplantcentral.com forums.

drfostersmith.com for most of my stuff.

Never bought livestock online.

And the 9 out of 10 times ive bought plants online (ebay, craiglist, private) they have arrived dead. So I quit doing that.

Whats a good place to buy plants online Im still wondering...

The classified section on this site and other forums is a great place to buy plants.

Also, for livestock, google Franks Aquarium and Two Fish Guys, they are good for fish. www.liveaquaria.com is also good for livestock.

For supplies that I can't find locally, either Big al's or Dr F&S. For plants and livestock, the classified ads section of AC.

Buying online is almost always cheaper, even with the shipping. One thing about Petsmart is they will always match their internet price, and even match others prices as long as you bring in a copy of the the item and price with you.

i just received my second order of supplies i have bought from drfosterssmith.com. the primary item was a Stealth heater which was missing one suction cup (manufacturer problem). i called drfosterssmith and in a matter of minutes was told extra cups would be shipped out and the customer service rep was both friendly and fast. they got my business with low prices and will keep it with great service.

I've bought from:
Bigalsonline.
Thefishplace.
Drfosters&Smith.
Petco.
Ebay.

When it comes to fish and plants, I'd rather buy them from aquabid.

no doubt drsfostersmith.com and marinedepot.com are excellent companies to deal with. I've spent literally thousands with marinedepot (saltwater reef), and quite a bit with drsfostersmith.com.

Drsfostersmith has a wednesday special where you get double points if you're a vip member. Add up your points on stuff you were going to buy anyways, and get free stuff down the road. Pretty sweet deal.

i just got a call from drfosterssmith.com and they are sending me another heater at no charge, i can not say enough about their customer service.
