my socolofi has had a lump behind his right fin and i have been treating him with meds but its getting worse cause it looks like an infected wart, very nasty
and if someone can tell me how to post a pic on here i'll get one

No, it didn't work, keep playing around with it, you'll get it. You might have like 1 letter wrong and it messed up.

Looks like a bacterial lesion. I have no experience yet with Melafix...

I had a black phantom tetra that had a similar bacterial infection. Treat it now because I ignored it, it spread and I lost the fish.

Definately a cut or abrasion which has become infected with bacteria. very common in big cichlids. With Melafix you should see it start to clear up within days.

Could be a TB lesion. What are you currently treating with? If melafix isn't doing anything I'd suggest something that will treat internal bacterial infections, because these are active against TB bacteria.
