what to use for an emergency fry tank?
Its 6pm on sunday and i have just found 6 fry in my tank what can I use untill tommorow to keep them from being food lol:confused:

rubbermaid tub or better yet, a 5-10 gallon tank.

At the moment they are in a plastic 10 by 5 inch tub floating in the main tank but I am worried about the oxgen level as there isn't alot of surface area
(by the way i think they are mollys)

its the same temp as the tank but not filtered I only found them 1/2 hour ago lol and the tub was the best i could find

Is your net big enough to hold them? If so, keep em in the net inside of a colander that is suspended (if you can hang it in your tank) in the tank. That way they can't be sucked through the net by the bigger fish.

Thats why i keep a small filter running and cycle, extra pump and air stone, heater, i also have several rubbermaid 13 gallon tubs, you just never know.........:)

I leave my molly fry in the main tank with mom and dad... with lots of plants for cover, most will survive just fine.

thank god for good neigbours three doors down has lent me a fine mesh square box which sits on the inside of the tank with suckers, fry very happy other fish hungry :>)thank you for all your advice
