I prefer over the top but often put it under...otherwise the cats unravel the whole thing and pull it all over the apartment. Under, it just spins and thwarts their evil plans.

This is a major issue with my boyfriend and I. He can't stand it being any way but over the top. I could care less and don't make an effort one way or another. But, sometimes just to spite him I put it on the bottom.:devil:

Well, I prefer the back of the toilet option. Primarily because I'm lefty and the toilet paper roller thingy is on the right hand side. Otherwise, if it were on the left, it'd be an over-the-topper.

Over the top! I worked for a while in housekeeping (commercial) and you HAD to put it over the top, and of course fold it into a nice point at the end! LOL Besides, I do not like spinning it to find the end! It should be right where you can see it. (honestly, mine is on the counter cause the holder is in a stupid place and I have to just about break my arm off to get at it!

I guess I'm confused as to what you mean by under vs. over??? I checked our bathroom, and we just lay the toilet paper between the toilets.

In the event we run out, we keep spares in a basket on the floor.

I'm one of those who normally doesn't like the paper to be on the dispenser as I prefer to hold the roll in my hand when 'doing my duty.'..lol

It usually sits on one of the wall shelves directly in front of the throne.

i have a little shelf in there for towels/lotions/books, and the toilet paper has to go on the shelf. whenever i try to put it on the roll (like a respectable human being) one of my cats always goes crazy and unrolls it all over the floor. i don't like using shredded tp.
