I swore I wasn't going to buy any more fish until I was happy with the plant situation, but I decided to take a trip to buy the plants and my willpower gave out.

My first stop was the nice Petco, where I discovered they had threadfin rainbows in stock. Once I saw them, I couldn't resist buying them...they are my favorite fish! :grinyes: They are in quarantine right now since one of the males had a noticable spot of ich on his tail. I bought all they had...4 males and 2 females. There was a male mollie with a nice lyretail that I couldn't resist either, so into the tank with the rainbows he went!

I was setting up a small planted tank for 2 or 3 sparkling gourami, but then I saw this betta at my favorite lfs and couldn't resist. He is so sparkly and pretty!

And of course my hitchhiker pleco identified by the experts as a Rineloricaria parva...I'm going to see the waste production myself before I decided to return him or not. Never had a pleco before!

It was a very good fish day. :grinyes:

threadfins at petco? whoa lucky you!! how much were they?

Last time I went to this Petco they had 2 threadfins, but it was seeing the group of them that urged on the purchase. They were $7.49 each, so I figured I saved on shipping at least. One of the males is so tiny, half the size of the biggest one. They are the cutest fish and they even started displaying to each other...I can't wait until I can put them in the planted tank (and maybe get a few more!) :perv:

nice buys!

Thanks! I was a little nervous for one of the males...the Petco guy accidentally dropped him on the floor and was like "Oh well" while I frantically scrambled around trying to pick him up. :mad2: Thankfully I was able to toss him back into the water. He didn't move for a while, but I think he will pull through!

Last time that happened here at petco the guy said "do you still want him" :lipssealedsmilie:

Outstanding find!

I love my Threadfins, nice buy! The more you have together, the more fun they are. I have 4 males and 8 females in a 75 and they can put on quite a show.
