Hi all ...
I'm not even sure its a fish, maybe its an amphibian, or an invert? Its a long worm-like thing. Its not an eel, or an aquatic snake, and its not a newt. It has a weird name. I read about it somewhere but I cant remember where or what its called! I want to learn more about it and maybe get one, but I cant do any research because I dont know the name :( I do know that it doesnt really do anything, it burrows most of the time; and if I remember correctly, its a dark grey or black color.
I hope someone here can please help me figure this out, Im kinda goin nuts . thanks

I mean I probably shouldnt even be bothering yall with this...I guess I just hoped that someone out there might know... It has no fins! I cant remember if it has some tiny appendages, like it used to have legs a few million years ago or something...but I'm pretty sure it doesnt have any and its just like a big worm...Arrgh! :(

I think I know what you might be looking for... Go HERE (http://fwie.fw.vt.edu/VHS/salamanders_of_virginia.htm) and check out the Amphiuma means and the Siren lacertina... They match your description. There's something else that comes to mind however. I can't remember the name of it but I've seen them for sale somewhere and at the National Zoo... I looked but couldn't come up with anything. I'm sure I'll remember it and I'll let you know if you don't find it...
