Well in my tank my angelfish is starting to get its fins nipped at. Very little and almost no real damage just a little roughing at the very edge.
From what i understood lemon tetras are known to not be nippers.

Does this mean perhaps i am underfeeding? Is the angelfish ok with small amounts of nipping?

thanks

Do you have pics of its fins? Most tetras will nip regardless of the species. If its fins have white ragged edges, then it is finrot different from a fin trim by nippers. Water changes is your best option for both cases.

It was more of an over the course of a day development. I had to skip a day of feeding as i was out of the house all day. The next day is when i noticed it. They don't look whit around the edges at all. No pic as the only camera I have right now would not be able to produce a clear enough one.

Alright as long as good diet and water changes he should be ok?

Will tetras be more nippy if they are hungry?

Yep. Good diet (without overfeeding) and water changes help. Most tetras tend to snap depending on their moods. It's a similar case to red devils and other cichlids.

hmm id like pics, parametres and stocking before i post any suggestions

stock is in my sig, water parameters are 7.8ph 10gh, 78F, 0ammonia 0nitrite 10nitrate. Pics can't happen.

hes about 4.5" tall and about 2"wide so hes still got a lot of growing. This was the first time it happened though. His fins are already growing back, almost cant even tell they were nipped now.

I have my angels with lemon tetras and bleeding hearts. They don't engage in any nipping behaviour. However, two of my angels sometimes squabble resulting in some slightly raggy fins. I've never worried too much about it. They seem to heal up quickly as long as you keep your water quality good. I never add anything special like melafix or anything, but I suppose you could.
