Actual Volume of Storage Containers...

I have a 35 Gallon Sterilite storage container but I got the dimension of it from their website and the dimensions come out to be 52 Gallons actual volume...This doesn't sound right, but if it is actually the volume...Where do they get the gallon numbers from and how full are they calculating it to? :confused:

Well this is one of those plastic containers that tapers down right? The dimensions given are probably where it is largest and does not reflect the fact that its smaller at the bottom than at the top.
