Can anyone help me to ID these plant?

(I think its some kind of fern, it comes with driftwood attached.)

(I totally dunno what this is..)

Also, I seem to have another problem. I want to add live plants into my aquarium starting with the easy ones. However, I do not know how to identify one from another. For example, I wanted to get an Asian Ambulia and I ended up with a Camboba instead. Needless to say, The Camboba didnt really thrive...

I was thinking of just going to to LFS and ordering them by name. How do you guys do it?

Thanks

The first plant is java fern. The second is a sword plant, maybe red rubin sword. Both should do OK in lower light no CO2 tanks but better with the additions of both and fertilizers.

I would definitely suggest doing more research on planting your tank before you decied to do it. Many people decide they want plants and just start adding them (like I did for years) and them watch slowly die after a few days. There are many considerations prior to planting a tank. You can make it as simle or as high tech as you want but you should be informed before taking the plunge.

Things to think about:
Lighting, substrate, fertilizers, carbon source (CO2 or Flourish Excel), plants you want etc.

There may be a "getting started" type of thread on this forum so you should check it out.
