Hey all,
I'm going to want to put some grassy type stuff or a ground cover in one of my tanks that will be ok under lower lights. Can anyone make any recommendations as to what will work well?

Moss can be "trained" somewhat to serve as groundcover, the best stem option for lower light situations is probably Marsilea quadrifolia or another Marselia species (M. minuta, M. crenata, M. drummondii). I think the quad species requires the least light...

I have heard dwarf hairgrass will grow in most conditions, Im trying it in a 50g with 30 watts and it seems to be surviving now for a few months.

I would have to recommend dwarf sag-Sagittaria subulata. It grows well in low light and alot of ppl have it, should be easy to find.

Unfortunately, most of your traditional shorter growing plants just won't work under low light. Your best bet is to go with kind of a medium sized forground. Dwarf Sag might work.
I wouldn't try dwarf hairgrass. In order for it to fill in well, it really needs high light.

Have a look at Echinodorus parviflorus. Its is not a grass type plant. It is like a dwarf sword plant but it does well in low light. I have used it for ground cover in low loght, by just using a lot of it.
