i accidentally dropped a daphnia cube in my 75g tank. nothing in my 75 gallon tank eats daphnia. so when the cube melted it became about 300 itty bitty chunks of meat.

2 days later each little chunk of meat has a halo of mold growing on it about a centimeter in diameter. serious yuck. did one water change and cleaned out the filter. will water change one more time. wont do that again.

thats whats great about fish keeping- you always find new ways to screw up.

Lol. One time I dropped a test tube in my tank before I did a water change. When I was wrapping up I found that one of my zebra danios had somehow stuck himself inside of the tube. I don't know how he did it, but he was quite shocked after that. Luckily he recovered.
I can't find Daphnia around here so I couldn't do what you did, but what is in your tank that doesn't eat Daphnia?

So how'd you get the danio out? :D

I turned the test tube facing downwards and eased it away from him. He sat on the sand for a while but picked up and now he's swimming fine. This whole thing was about two or three weeks ago.

Mine enjoy being siphoned out of the 10 gallon fry tank, so I can't do water changes like that anymore!!!

For some reason they don't seem to mind or be injured by the whole process?

My danios are really agressive towards me too. They bite me when I change the water. One time I sucked one up with my python and had to fish him out before he went down the drain.
I used to think they would be hard to catch, but when I skim the surface with a net, I catch them without even trying. They certainly are funny fish.

lol my platy fry love to be siphoned, no idea why.

but when i had my oscars they would attack the filter, so it only worked half the time. so one time for some stupid reason i had fixed the filter and had a bottle of the ick cure stuff on it , which was a big bottle to keep the tube from raising up , left the room came back a few hours later to find 2 full grown oscars playing with the bottle , wich they had some how open and let probably enough med to cure the state aquarium of ick, so the tank was a dark blue, tock nearly a month to get normal colored water agian.:p

yep can never run out of stupiid things to do
