And once again, thanks for all the helpfull info and people here! My ammonia has spiked and dropped back down to .25, and my nitrites have risen and holding steady. Doing daily water changes (about 15 - 20%) to keep everyone comfortable (nearly freaked out when the ammo spiked!). All the fish and plants I started with are still alive and kicking. Also, many thanks for the heads up about getting ottos and not the chinese algae eaters - I was just about to make that mistake.
I have added a few (4) glass shrimp to scavenge the bottom. Dont know about anyone else, but I love to watch the little buggers scrambling around the tank at feeding time :) .
Also got easier test kits - the dip stick kind. I like them much better. I'm hooked on this site, and check at least once a day to see what is new. Keep up the good work!!!
