Hi, I have this old tank, 1o gal, the substrate is azoo grower bed, originally it had ph of 6.4 but beacuse I never changed the water or siphoned it, and just aded more and more water, now its ph is 8, I instaled 5 Chrom and they layd eggs but I didnt know that, today I was about to change that tank substrate, and saw little fish there, how can I just restore the ph of water to make it nice for Chrom, they need 6.5-7, the tank has some java ferns, mini pellia, java moss, and one anubia, little yeast co2 and light,My new plan is syphon the gravel to take dirt from 4 years and add coconut coir, any sugestions?

not fully understand the whole post but to lower the ph you can add peat moss to the filter.

umm well , the tank has Chromaphyosemion eggs, in substrate, and some new born fish, but that tank ph is 8, the akadama grabel does not acidify water anymore.

Why do you need to change the pH if the fish are already spawning in it, then it sounds fine?
