Dont think Ill ever figure how - but this morning one of my mickey mouse platy jumped out of its tank (through the smallest gap in the condensation tray), and right out of the room - so it must have jumped acouple of feet, and round a corner! I found it this morning - no idea how long it had been out - first thinking it was dead, until I put it in the tank and it started swimming - not seeming too bad off after its experiance (except bits of fluff stuck to it, which have come off now). Its fins are a bit clamped still, and stlight worn at the edges, and it doesnt look too happy - but other than that it looks to be ok. Anything I should do - and any ideas why it jumped? I was a bit late giving them their breakfast - but surely it wasnt that hungry...

chances are it just jumped like alot of fish do and it was just chance that it happened to make it out of the hole. I would add a good dose of stress coat to the tank to help with his slime coat and maybe as a precaution run a corse of melafix which is a mild natural antibiotic that can be found at most lfs and department stores. If nothing else it will bring out the color of your fish nicely and it doesnt harm the biological filter.
