Ok, so I am new here, and new to the hobby.

I recently purchased 2 beautiful German Rams. A male and a female. I like them very much. However, I have noticed that now that they have been in the tank for 48 hours, the female has become noticeably aggressive to her other tank mates.

I understand that they are going to stake out territory, but should I be concerned? she seems particularly unhappy with my loaches. :(

Male has chosen a spot above a nice flat rock and just sits there...She seems to be guarding him...

is it love?!?!?

its called preparing to mate and breed=eggs=babies.
Dear god, I am new to this hobby, and Im already possibly a parent to a host of Ram fry?!?! Seems I may have some work on my hands.

Does sound like they like each other. You may have lucked out . It is not always love at first sight with these guys.
How big is your tank, what are the tankmates? How about a pic?

well, I bought them as a pair, and they are stuck to one another like glue. The male really seems to be prepping a spot on top of a flat rock that has a cave underneath for my loaches. The female seems unhappy that the loaches keep swimming by on their way to the cave.

They have been in my tank for about 72 Hours, and in the last 10 hours I have noticed a substantial change in the vibrance of both their colors. The tank is 37 gallons, and I am hoping to get a larger tank in the coming year.

I am a bit worried as I have no idea how to raise fry, and I would hate to see there young gobbled up by my other fish.

Here they are...
