I know nothing about danio breeding so forgive me if the answer is obvious.

I have 11 Danios, 5 Zebra and 6 Blue Longfin. I believe 3-4 are male and the rest female, judging by the roundness of their bellies. They were extremely frisky this morning and now I have these semi-opaque gel like masses all over my aquarium. It's on top of the gravel and on some of the plants. It's not very thick, but it was most definitely not there twelve hours ago. Is it a fungus or algae or did my danios just have any orgy while I was at work!? Water levels are good and everyone seems happy.

Also can someone give me a summary of their breeding cycle?

Thank you so much!

do you have any new driftwood in the tank?

No real driftwood. Some low light plants in fluorite and anacharis floating. Broken terra cotta pots for caves and arches along with some faux driftwood.

hhhmmmmm, can you get a pick?

Sound rather like snail eggs. Danio eggs are discrete little translucent non-adhesive objects.

That's what I was thinking, but he said it was everywhere - "all over my aquarium" - must be a lot of snails! :lipssealedsmilie:

I'll try to get a pic posted. I was almost positive that Danio eggs were round, so I thought maybe unfertilized eggs, like I said I'm new. There are also 6 bronze corys, who I love perhaps more than my feline cats, but after having albino eggs in another tank I was almost positive the corys were not involved. No adult snails in the tank, 2 just under a 1/4 inch and the rest are barely visible, all hitchhikers I'm afraid.

Guys can it be something that was contaminated with snails
