Would be interested in any suggestion for a cat fish that can be put in a ten gallon tank with a betta?

a couple cories, a couple otos, a banjo cat but he might get a bit big. theres a ton of cats you could house in a little tank with the beta. http://www.planetcatfish.com/core/index.htm heres a great site on cats.

I'll second cories and ottos. One thing to watch for though, is that bettas are fairly hit and miss as community fish. I used to have my betta in my 29 and he completely ignored the ottos (I had to move him out because he was snapping at the tetras and hatchetfish at night), but I've heard a lot of people who've had problems w/ bettas and ottos.

I'd say give it a shot, but watch the tank closely. If the betta does give the fish trouble, I've heard people suggest taking the betta out and moving the tank decorations around so he doesn't think that the fish are invading territory he's already claimed.

If your betta still gives them trouble, then you'll have to return them. Good luck! :)
