Cryin, smying it's October. Fess up what movie(s) movies made you afraid of the dark, check under the bed, afraid to go in the basement, or kept you up nights?

Wish I could find one.
I will admit I love camping but would probably never camp in the Blair Witch woods.

this movie has got to be the number 1. I saw it when I was a kid and was freaked big time.... yes, my parents were there and let me watch it... I've seen it a couple times since but one time I tried watching it alone in the house... couldn't get past "my bed is shaky"... turned on all the lights and watched SNL for the rest of the night.
and I won't dare look at the link there, Rod LOL

Signs. I watched it when I was 6, I have hated aliens and I think of abductions from time to time. After watching that, I could never sleep well after a month.

Danger, When I was 18 I saw this movie when it came out. We had a big ole 500 acre ranch out in the middle of nowhere. Just days after seeing the movie I had to go and stay at the ranch BY MYSELF. We didn't even have a phone there and the nearest one was about 15 miles away. Anyway, I'm sitting in our trailer watching tv at night. There were outside floodlights shining off the trailer. There was a table next to the window outside where lights were shining. As I'm watching tv all of a sudden there is a big flash outside the window, I turn and look and what I see is a big ole freekin head staring at me . I freeked for a sec realizing it was a BIG OWL that landed on the table with it's head eye level to the window. Kinda looked like Linda Blair . Ouch, man that freeked me like you can't imagine !!!!!!!!!!

I have to go with Exorcist it messed my head up for a long time. I would go to bed and my mind would start playing with me and you just knew the bed was going to start shaking. I jumped out of that bed many of times when my mind got the best of me.

My 10 year old sister has watched the ring, all halloweens, all of the friday the 13th movies, and the only thing that scares her are ghosts.
I don't think I will ever watch the exorcist.
The movie that scared me the most was a really old Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds it really freaked me out even now if i see a big group of birds i get really panicky and think there going to swoop down and peck my eyes out or something, lame i know but that film messed me up.

28 Days Later. Why? Because it's set here in the UK so I could actually relate to it! Also it used non-famous actors so it was more realistic.
I'll never watch I Am Legend again. Not because of the "scariness" (i didn't find it scary), but because of the sheer tragedy of Sam

Does anyone remember Salem's Lot? Now it seems kinda corny but when it first hit the tv I was at a birthday party/sleep over. A bunch of little girls in the country staying in the basement. I can't remember how many times we screamed. :grinyes: It was pretty freaky!

I remember watching the fog when i was 5 or 6 years old, i sat up in bed and watched it on my old black and white tv while i was supposed to be asleep. After that i was terrified every time it was foggy, i wouldn't even go out side in the fog without my mum.

I don't suppose anyone has seen Shutter? Not the watered down US version but the original one in Thai (Eng subs)? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0440803/

ALIEN was the first movie that ever made me jump. When the creature pops out of the crewman's stomach was awesome!
CUJO made me more uncertain about large dogs as well! Many, many years later I can't see a St Bernard without remembering that movie!

one of the scariest movies i've seen is 28 days later. i really enjoy it and will pop it in every so often. the part that has always gotten to me was the stair case chase.
and alien, that movie is one of the best sci-fi/horror out there imho. i grew up on it so there was never a fear of the movie. but i do remember getting a kick out of seeing it re-released in octorber a few years back 05 i think (i wasn't born when it was first released lol).

Well, I've been watching scarry movies for as long as I can remember....really there are not many that have effected me much. Yes, while watching I may jump but no lingering scares. So I will have to go with just a couple instances.
King Kong-when I was very young, I watched with my Gramps...everytime I went in the bathroom I thought he was going to reach through the window and get me...LMAO!!!
A vampire movie which I can't recall the name of..but there was a little boy that was turned into a vamp and was floating outside of his brothers window (I think it was a brother, it was so long ago I don't remember before and only really remember that scene). Anyway, my bedroom window was right next to a huge tree and the branches would scratch the window sometimes and scare that crap outta me, I just knew that boy was out there waiting for me to invite him in and bite me!!!
The Grundge-only one as an adult that creeped me a bit..the movie itself was not really scarey and didn't bother me while watching but I was alone and the house we lived in our bedroom was a loft upstairs with these storage closets all the way down both sides of the room, for some reason when I went to bed that night..they really freaked me out.

Aftermath - this is a silent film from spain by Nacho Cerdà...DO NOT WATCH THIS! lol this is one of the most messed up films I've ever seen in my life.

Killer Clowns from Outer Space, yah srysly freaked me out as a kid a lot worse than IT or Poltergeist, now one of my favorite B horror/sci-fi films.
