I was wondering if it is safe to feed my fish lettuce from like a grocery store. The stuff in the bag. I dont see how this would effect my fish but i wanted to be on teh safe side and ask teh people of ac:)

Wash it well and it should be fine.

Darker lettuce (like romaine) has more nutritional value than lighter stuff (iceberg) -- for humans, too.

i usually feed them flake food but since i want them to have a healthier diet i wanted to try a different food. Thank you for informing me.

well my fish dont appreciate lettuce to much. I went throught the trouble of washing that stuff and tehy dont even liek it.
not suprising :D
mine won't eat it either.

Mine eats pellets and frozen bloodworms and sometimes live prey which the tiger barbs love to tear apart.

My fish don’t even think lettuce is food they just act like its another plant.

I fed my fish lettuce a few times. the problem is that once the fish digests the lettuce, they crap the stringy parts out and looks DISGUSTING floating around the tank...

Oscar-live prey-cockaroach,baby geckos,beetles,ants,moths,feeder guppies,fish in another tank i hate. etc
dead food-hair,chicken,paper,etc
Community tanks-live prey-bloodworms,walking catfish fry,snakehead fry
commercial food-pellets
too bad the oscar died from stunting,i didn't know how big this fish can grow at that time.

Try them with some shredded spinach, boiled for one minute. Zitto zucchini slices. (Have some yourself.)
