Hello to all,
This was my tank setup just before I moved into my new home. I had roseline rasboras that looked amazing but they just swam way too much side to side. So I sold them to start a discus setup now that my tank is not going to move any time soon! Hope you like these pics of different stages of my tank when it was in our apartment. Wish I had cO2..someday!

Early Start..I liked this look.

This was the final pic after 6 months and some slight movements of things.
A bit overgrown! Excuse the plants outside the tank

Beautiful aquascaping. I like it in all its phases. I wish mine looked even half that good.

Gorgeous! Looks like you have a very green thumb, and a knack for fattening up those roselines. Great work :grinyes:

Well it was the only spot I could put it in the apartment as we were upstairs.
I would say it was definitely the focus of the room, we sat on the couch backwards most of the time!!

I don't use co2 in my tank because it is another expense and I have yet to need my plants to grow any faster. A few things I do may seem strange or far fetched to some experienced tank keepers such as ....
I set my canister filter up once a year....that is I set it and leave it for a year.
I change my water 50% once a month only (a lot of people have a big problem with that one). My lights are on for 14 hours in the summer and 12 hours in the winter. I give my fish a 3 day period without any food every 3 months.
I picked up these habits from an old fish breeder in my local area who always had amazing fish and plants. I just ordered some plants from Mgamer so well see how they turn out....hopefully 4 watts per gallon is enough to make a carpet!!
