Morning all,

Got a Lawnmower blennie lastnight and this AM checked him over to see how he was doing in his new home...then I discovered that one of his eyes has what looks like a cloudy film over it. I didn't see it in the pet store or when I put him in last night.
Any ideas what it might be?

Cold he be blind in that eye? can fish ever be blind?

Also, if this is some kind of sickness what sould I treat him with.

I have a 2.5G hospital tank as to not destroy any thing in my tank when medicating.

Thanks for the help in advance.

WD

Oh crap, my mind just went blank. Cloudy eyes are a symptom of somthing, I just can't remember what. Someone else pick this up as I am grasping miserably at this answer. Let me read my fish diseases book and get back to you....

It may just be secreting mucus in response to stress. How is it behaving? Is there any other sign that the fish is unhappy, like marks or spots on the body?
My advice would be to just watch it for the moment.

Right before I left for work it was just sitting in the midst of some caulpera not doing much. Last night he was doing fine...swiming around and checking out the environment. As for when he was in my LFS's holding tank he was very busy swimming around looking for food. The reason I choose him over the other lawnmower blennie was because he was swimming around. The other was just sitting on a rock for the 30min or so I was in the shop.

As for anyother marks...nothing that I saw.
