apple and briggs snails

different.
Could you please explain how? The term 'apple snail' is basically a common name which is not valid. Pomacea bridgesii is sometimes called apple snail.

brigg is one of hundreds of types of apple snail. Pomacea bridgesii are commonly sold under the title "mystery snail".

Pomacae is part of the family under the apple snail complex. It's family name is Ampullariidae and the genus species referred to commonly are Asolene, Marisa, Felipponea, and Pomacea. There are more uncommon genus's: Pila, Afropomus, Lanistes and Saulea.I'm sure more info can be found on applesnail.net
