AC 50 overkill on 16g Bowfront?

Do you think an Aquaclear 50 would be overkill on a 16 gallon bowfront? I plan on stocking it with some shell dwelling cichlids, and maybe a few other compatible small fish.
 
Not at all, they can also be turned down alittle, i wouldn't hesitate to use a 70........:)
 
There's no such thing as overfiltering, but there is such thing as too much current. If your fish are being blown around the tank, cut the flow a bit.
 
Not a problem at all.
 
only time its overkill is when the filters get the food before the fish.. lol
