Well my buddy bought 2 55 gallon tanks for 80$ and gave me one. Well he is kinda a moron and washed them out with bleach water. What would be the best way to ensure that there is not residue left over? Would i be able to keep a reef in it?

The tank will be fine. Just be sure it was rinsed well. Let it air dry outside. Make sure you can't smell any bleach when you bring it back in the house.

What I like to do is use a vinegar rinse, (after bleach), then lots of fresh water, then let it sit in the sun for a few days to dry and uv sterilize.

If you use a stainless "steel wool" and vinegar, alot of deposits come off if it is an old tank.

Thank you for your input. So ill wash with vinegar and water and let it sit in the sun for a few days.

Bleach water is fine, just not soap I heard. I used to always use bleach water to clean out tanks, (although I don't use it anymore), but just rinse it out really well. Never had any trouble with it.
