Hi:

I have a pretty good fish store and I think the lady giving me advice is usually right...however, I recently had some problems with my black molly and she told me to stabilize the tank before treating with Quickcure. I added 3 TBS salt and raised the ph, and this helped the molly- but tonight I saw a sign on the Walmart molly tank which said cory catfish don't appreciate salt. Can anyone help? I don't want to torture my catfish, but I know the mollies do like the salt, and it really helped.

Thanks,
Leigh

Yes, Cories do not do well with salt in their tanks. Plus mollies can do well with out salt. Salt is not needed for mollies well being, with the way mollies are bred today, they do not need salt.
here is a link on the great molly salt debate.
