My zebra loaches were kind of dancing. I guess that's the best way I can describe it. Does anyone else's do that? I know they don't mate in captivity... Right?

It is the Loachy dance! I think they all do it.

My Kuhlis did a dance a week ago. I saw 2 of them swimming in open water, grbbing each other at the mouth and swimming in perfect strokes for a few seconds. Then I saw a spray of green little pellets come out of one of them. It all landed in my Java Moss.

I wonder what happened? :D

:thm: Did you try to rescue any eggs David? Or did everyone have a Dr Seuss snack, green eggs & ham? :evil_lol:

So if it was mating behavior, do u think mine will breed in captivity? That would be sweet!

Where they swimming together in perfect strokes and "holding" each other at the mouth?

I got eggs from Kuhlis and at the time, 3 of them were still gravid, so I just let my fish have green eggs and no ham.

They do breed accidentally sometimes...good luck!

I don't know about the mouth thing. I don't remember, but they're in my other tank now with the other fish and lots of cover so I'll probably never know now.

I thought that the Kuhli's eggs all got eaten, but I saw a little fry swimming around about 3 days after that, so you never know if any of them made it. Who knows, in a couple of months, you might find a little loach swimming around.
