View Full Version : Loach Photos
Thought I'd start a thread for photos to give this forum more traffic. Also, this will give us opportunity to gather some photos for the profiles I'm working on. Yes, I have a loach profile on the works but photos are lacking.:perv:
To give a start, here are some of mine.:D

Sorry I Don't have any pics but seeing all these loaches is awesome. I love em just as much as the next guy and it certainly makes me miss mine. I recently lost a Kuhli Loach to what appeared to be a swim bladder problem. Tragic! Hope to have pics of a new tank up soon! (lots of loachs).

Lupin.....I have never seen the sids go after or eat a snail! I collect maybe 20 or so ramshorns every water change from my discus tank and throw them in there for my clown. Now he loves em!

We are ready to get our Clown Loaches. We found some that were 1.5 - 2 inches. They are really lively and some were even relaxing on their sides. Think this size, since they are active and look good would be ok? Also wondered what your opinion is on the setup of our tank? Anything need changing? Thanks for the imput. One thing is can't figure out how to put my pic from my computer in here :-) LOL but they are in my profile.

I think its just distortion from the angle the pics were taken from. 2 of the loaches are larger ~5", the other two I've only had for a month or so and are much smaller - 1.5". The little guys are good shape, just look tiny next to the two older ones.

I have a couple of questions about Kuhlis. Hopefully someone can help.
I have a planted 29 gal tall. I've got 20 neon tetras.
a) Can I keep kuhli loaches if I'm using Eco-complete, or will that be too rough on their skin (since they burrow).
b) Given that they burrow, do they have a tendency to uproot plants? In other words, are they a bigger pain than they are worth in planted tanks?
c) Can I keep kuhli loaches and dwarf chain loaches together? Say, 8 of each in my 29? More? Less? Suggestions?
Thank you! Your pictures are awesome!!! Here's a pic of my tank.

Deb they are beautiful and so healthy looking! Your tank looks great too from what I can see. I'm starting up my tank after the summer and I'm looking for loaches to get along with cory cats as I love them both. I love this thread!
hey mate, I just got a few Kuhlis, do you happen to know what they like to eat?
My 2 clown loaches hang out with my tiger barbs constantly.
