So far, I'm thinking of going the planted route but very low light and will dose Co2 (Excel) once in awhile

So far I got some extra soil so I set up a scape with two rocks I had in the house laying around from my first tank. No plants for now; but thinking of Glosso, some four leaf clovers. Inhabitants are 15 RCS, and 2 Bumble Bee Snails (Thanks Rachel).

As for fish; I want something; but not sure what can survive. I'm not looking for a betta b/c the last time I had one it eats shrimps. Any real nice nano fish that swims alot so I actually notice something in the tank?

It looks like you're stocked pretty well right now.

I'm not sure if any of them would work, but you could look up more info on some of the fish on this list. Franks aquarium has a supply of nano fish. http://www.franksaquarium.com/nanofish.htm

I am cycling a 2.5g right now which will be set up for a betta besides shrimp and snails am not sure what else would survive maybe two neons but that is all you could stock it with nothing more than that or maybe a couple of frogs. I am using established filter media that has been sitting in my 36g filter compartment for months so far so good. I added a danio to help speed along the process he will go in my 36g once the 2.5g is cycled and the betta will go to the 2.5g. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

a couple of fancy tail male guppies? see mine below. they are very bright and colorful and swim around a lot, i had a very difficult time taking a photo of him. They add a lot of spunk and character to the tank.
