View Full Version : Anyone use a Nitrate reductor?

if so do they work? just wondering to see if it is something that works well enough to justify paying about $300 for one.

I've used one in the past but have to admit I didn't think it was worth the money and mine was only £55($110). I can't remember the make of it but I have learnt that keeping your bio load down helps!:)

I have also used them (not on my personal system) and I don't see too much need, unless you have substantial levels of nitrate that are difficult to lower via other methods. I don't, however, have any experience with the newer sulfate-reducing types of reductors. You may want to contact kcress, since he built his own and has a great deal more experience with this type of reductor than I do.
