hey guys this is my first post here to this site ... for a while now i have been reading posts from here and MFK ...
whils im not new to fishkeeping i just became new to discus keeping due to the information located in these sites ...
thanks and here are some pics of them ... if you have any ideas on the strain of these fishes it would be helpfull

aww... I love discus. Yours are very pretty. Congratulations and good luck! What size tank are they in? Are you planning on adding more?
 
they are in a 75 gallon (long)i think) with a custom 15 gallon wet/dry setup
the discus tankmates are 4 bala sharks and 1 vieled angelfish
i do have plans in the future to get more discus
 
Its really hard to tell for sure what type you have from these pictures.

My guess is last pic the one on the right RED TURQUOISE
the other 2 are still to young to guess
You need to get at least 2 more rather quickly as they will soon start picking on one till it dies.
 I would also start feeding a lot of high protein foods like blood worms and beef hearts. From the pictures they look a little out of proportion
I do not mean to scare you but IHMO they need the protein and water changes so they don't become stunted

as for the tank mates the 3 balas will out compete them for food and the waste will require larger water changes should you keep them. They should be moved.

I have a single hold over bala and he is one big pig I do 30% every other day in my 90
 
yeah i know there a little stunted (thankyou LFS)they wern't discus people) but for first discus i didnt really care because i know there still young and will hopefully grow up healthy under my care
... and as far as the bala sharks.... after the discus are done with there food on there side they go steal food from the bala/angel
and i am feeding them a pretty varied diet .. beefhearts mix (recipe i got somewhere here) hikari discus pellets and omega one (red) flake
as a note if you see the ingredient list from all 3 foods there isnt much of anything with a face that they arent eating :eek3:

yeah i want to get more soon but i dont see any bullying yet but there is a dominate one
