I just got home and noticed a few white dots on my pleco. I am afraid im am going to be dealing w/ ich.Should i remove him into a Qtank, or medicate the tank he is in now incase there is ich in the water.

I am thinking i should medicate my entire 20gal. Would medication be hard on my banjo cat? Maybe i should just remove him and medicate the tank w/out him in there?

I need some help before it gets worse...thanks

You don't need to bother with a quarantine tank for your fish, since if it is on one fish it is already in your tank. Just treat the whole thing. For a pleco I'd use Quick Cure at 3/4ths the regular dose.

This isn't what quarantine is.

hospital tank? you know what i meant. Ill get some quick cure tomorow. I noticed my gourami rubbing up against the driftwood. i guess he will have it before too long also. maybe i caught it soon enough since only the pleco has the dots and he just has a few. who knows what they will look like tomorow though. thanks for the advice.

Thanks Dahlia. The ick is gone, i will medicate for a few more days to make sure it wont come back.

Most people recommend a whole week of meds after seeing the last ick spots.
